Prowein exhibition started 21 years ago in Düsseldorf with a total of 321 exhibitors and a European market focus. Currently it is the top wine exhibition in the world, with about 5.000 exhibitors and over 45.000 visitors, including the ones that you would dream to knock on your winery so as to get a great deal. But what is this plethora of professionals with journalists, opinion leaders and key players of the wine global market among them, actually tasting?
Wines from almost 50 countries around the world, with Greece having a sound presence due to the German market, although Prowein bears no national character. This year, the Winemakers' Association of the Peloponnese (ΕΝΟΑP) featuring 24 wineries is participating with a single stand within the Greek pavilion, aiming for a louder presence in an exhibition where the international competition is very tough.
That is exactly the reason that we will also join this year's Prowein as we were invited by ENOAP to present a selection of the region's wines in the Peloponnese wine-bar. The wines were chosen by us to highlight not only the quality but also the diversity of the wines in terms of styles and expressions. With this in mind, next to the two flagship varieties of the region, i.e. Agiorgitiko and Moschofilero we will show other indigenous varieties next to blends and expressions of classic international varieties. Let's not forget as well the sweet and sparkling wines!
For us, synergy is the key for a country like Greece with a long wine tradition and a great potential but without the recognition of the other top-tier wine countries of the world. And the ENOAP project is such a collective action forward that we fully embrace!
We will be waiting for you at the exhibition, fully informed as always, with an armor of brilliant wines full of character and diversity and a strong will to attract as many people as possible to the Greek pavilion.
